Without a doubt, Costa Mesa's preeminent surf spot is...  Blackies in Newport Beach.

You're right, Costa Mesa has no official coastline, but if you've spent any amount of time at Blackies, you're likely to get the joke.

Newport Beach was our home for the first 6 years of our shop, but we moved up the hill in 2015 to Costa Mesa.

Blackies is the best true loggin’ wave in town, typically at its best from October til March. But, it’s one of those spots that can just get really good on a random day when no one is expecting it.

Keeps you on your toes.
