Douglas Fir "Kookbox"

You may recall about a year ago, when we teamed up with our friends Arnaud and Alex to build a Walnut Kookbox, as a tribute to surfing's history, and more specifically our dear friend Pete Tresselt.
Well, that board found a new home, so we called up Arnaud to see about helping us execute a new version.
This one is the same basic shape: a ten foot long "Kookbox" reminiscent of the surfboards of the 1920's. We shaped the core from block-cut EPS, and entrusted Arnaud with the meticulous task of adding the nose and tail block, as well as the 1/8" Douglas Fir "skin".
The result is this incredibly-grained wooden tribute to surfing's heritage. (Photos: Jeffrey Allee)
