57 reviews   |

**Estimated Ship Date March 12**

The Pleasant Pheasant is ideally suited for surfers who want the added foam of a midlength, but still want the ability to explore the face of the wave.  It's one of our most beloved models, and perfect fit for the R-Series construction.

In terms of length and volume, the 6'4 Pleasant Pheasant (Plez Phez for short) splits the difference between the 5'4 MENU and the 8'0 JOY

The latest addition to the R-Series line features a SINGLE FIN BOX and Futures side-bite boxes.

Early and Often

Nobody was joking when they said this board is amazing in pretty much every way. It is an attention grabber from other people in the lineup and on the beach. Out in the water you and really move this board on the wave and it is always nice to be able to adjust the fin setup for any condition. The foam isn’t your tradition style foam that is soft and mushy. It has a very hard texture to it, which I like because you know it can hold up to whatever you throw at it. The reason for the four stars is that I purchased mine on sale and it arrived with the “no-wax deck” slightly out of place and a small nick in the rail at the nose of the board. I now see on the website that they sell the Joy on sale and it is labeled “second quality” and wonder if my board may have been one of these types of boards before they came up with the catchy new name. Besides this, I look forward to riding this board until it can no longer catch a wave.

Great Service!

Haven't had a chance to use the board yet, but I can tell it is going to be fun (with or without fins). More importantly, Almond's service was top shelf. The first board arrived with some damage. They responded immediately with options and got a replacement to me within about a week. Well done and thank you.

Another 5 stars

First surfboard in 15 years, have been nothing but stoked every time I go out. I didn't want to worry about dings since I knew I wouldn't be as delicate as I used to be. Have loved it so much that I bought an R-Series Secret Menu.

Why 5 Stars for all the reviews?

I will tell you why. I am not affiliated with Almond or know anyone from the ownership/staff so I am speaking as a true unbiased consumer. I got my 6-4 Plez Phez R-Series foam construction Surfboard about 6 months ago. I started surfing about a year and half ago at the age of 52 and like most people starting out it was on a standard 8ft wavestorm which was great safe board to start. Once I got the comfortable with the basic of surfing, I was looking on how to transition down to a shorter board with my end goal being able to surf head high waves in the Ventura County area where I live. So I started to shop around and all the local shops tried to get me down to a Poly or Epoxy board. I was a little hesitant to go with Poly/Epoxy as my next board since I was not user friendly with my wavestorm. So I did some internet searches and came across the foam R Series from Almond. So I took the plunge and got the Plez Phez R-Series and have not been disappointed. At the start, it took a while to get use to the shorter board with less volume but after several sessions I was catching lots of waves and having a lot of fun exploring different parts of the waves. The board is also super easy to paddle for a short board. Finally, the customer service I received from Almond was second to none. Very professional staff and management, Simply a great all around board especially for someone looking to downsize from a larger board.
