"The R-Series Joy is the best board for beginner to intermediate surfers looking to build confidence in the water."

Beat the crowd with The Joy, our most popular, and most versatile surfboard model.

At 8'0 long and 22" wide, the R-Series Joy is designed to be the go-to surfboard for all ages and stages. (Appropriate for surfers from 65 lbs to 250 lbs)

The Low-rocker and substantial volume will help you to catch more waves, and get into those waves earlier. Pintail and slight vee (bottom contour) help it turn with ease, even from the middle of the board.

Fun Board

I've had a chance to ride this board about 5 times so far and it rides really nice. The best part is there is no need to worry about waxing the board since it has great traction. The only down side to this board is the center fin is really cheap and snapped on the 2nd day out. No idea how it happened, but I think it has a to to do with the fin base not being solid. I've been riding it as a twin fin setup since and its a little sloppy but fun. I would have given 5 stars except for the fin issue.

Sorry about the fin issue on your board... Did you get a replacement center fin yet?

Good board

It rides really well, I was kind of surprised though that the bottom was foam as well and not a flat smooth surface. I still love it, but would have preferred the bottom be smoothed gloss and not foam.

I barely paddle and catch every wave that comes my way!

I decided to finally get an Almond board after years of wanting one and decided it would be fun to have a board that works in most conditions (especially summer slop) and went with the R Series 8ft Joy. I haven't been out in a while due to an elbow injury and my first time back was on this board. I got out past the breakers with minimal effort because the board glides so quickly over the water. I caught every wave I wanted. I have been surfing Catch Surf for my standard go-to foamies but this is my new "everyday" board. Absolutely stoked and haven't had this much fun surfing in the 20yrs I've been doing it. I'm so sold on it I want to get the shorter version for heavier surf. Thanks Almond!

Fin box sealed the deal!

Been on the fence about one of these for a while but since they put the new futures fin box in I was on board. Bought it for my wife! She hasn’t ridden it once cause I’m hogging it! Super fun little board!
