Don't be fooled by its full template, once you step back near the tail of your longboard, this fin works like a hinge, allowing the nose to swing freely.

Yew!

For my first heavy Log I bought this Huck fin and a Yater Spoon. I used the spoon once and then tried the Huck. I still haven't taken it off... It allowed me to hang out on the nose like the spoon but it excelled on pivot turns in comparison. Lastly I don't tend to wear a leash so the fin has taken quite a beating over the last four years without much damage to show for. Highly recommend.

Riding a 9’0 SUP, wondering if would be a good fit, to help with nose riding?

Hey Ian, Thanks for reaching out! I'm not entirely sure about the bottom contours on a SUP, but this fin is our best recommended fin for hold while your on the nose. The classic Hatchet shape provides swinging turns while you're on the tail & plenty of hold as your weight shifts towards the front of the board. Hope this helps! Hi Eddy,

Thanks for reaching out, we normally recommend a 10" or 10.5" Pin fin with that tail shape (it's included with the board) but if you want something with a little more hold to it then I'd lean towards the Log Rhythm fin which is a bit more rounded in the back but still a pivot fin.

Would this be too much for a 7'8 mini log with a square-tail? Mainly looking to focus on noseriding

Thanks for reaching out! I do believe you might be over-finned with a 10" fin on a 7'8 mini log. I would typically look for something around 8" to 9" to work on a board of that size.
