The construction of the R-Series surfboards is quite simple: stringers, fin boxes, and a closed-cell, durable copolymer foam. Add a deck pad on top, and you're in business.

The good news is, if you get a "ding" in your R-Series, the board will not start taking on water like a foam & fiberglass constructed board will. But there are still instances where you may prefer to patch things up and make them look nicer.

Works Great! Be aware of what the sun can do.

I was surfing one day and someone dropped in on me causing a collision with our boards. My R-Series Joy got slashed up pretty good, but this kit made it look like new! Pretty amazing how the color matches perfectly. The only bummer was that I got distracted while doing the 5min UV cure, 15 mins later I came back to my board and the sun had bubbled up the pad on the top of my board.

Exactly What We Needed

Am I a professional board repairer? Absolutely not, but this kit made me feel like I might be. Just what you need to fix dings, big or small. Made our foamie serviceable again after a massive chunk was taken out of the rail.

Cheap and reasonable can size. Could buy solarez and flex seal separately but will cost more. Also I don’t need a large can of flex seal from Home Depot when these guys provide the right amount. Their video on repairs also helped!

How much does the joy 8foot r series weigh? Does it work in 1 to 2 foot waves?

Hey there, I've had my 6'4" pleasant pheasant for a while now, love it, but unfortunately the crossbar on the leash plug recently snapped. I don't see any options for a leash plug in the repair kit, but is this something you offer? Thanks! Colin

Hi. I bought an 8’0” joy r-series a couple years back and I love it! Unfortunately, last year, I broke the bar on the leash plug. I’ve been using it leashless since. Not a big deal, but that led to me eventually breaking the single fin about a year later… so, I was wondering if there is anyway to order a new fin and a replacement leash plug? I have a fin slice in my R8 from a collision with another surf board on the rail. The cut is about 3.5 inches deep. Recommendations on repair would be most appreciated. Thanks Kelly

I like the 5'4" option. I am 220... will it be rideable... or do I need to go with an 8'er? Thanks...

Hi Jack,

It depends on how comfortable you are on a shorter board. We have a buddy that is 6'6 215 that rides the 5'4 so it could be a fun option but if you want something with a little more foam then we also have the 6'4 that is still narrow enough to pump and generate speed but will give you more foam for smaller/medium size days.
