R-Series 6'4 Plez Phez | SAGE

107 reviews   |

The Pleasant Pheasant is ideally suited for surfers who want the added foam of a midlength, but still want the ability to explore the face of the wave.  It's one of our most beloved models, and perfect fit to build in the R-Series construction.

In terms of length and volume, the 6'4 Pleasant Pheasant (Plez Phez for short) splits the difference between the 5'4 MENU and the 8'0 JOY

The latest addition to the R-Series line features a SINGLE FIN BOX and Futures side-bite boxes.

Best Board except...

Best board I've personally ever road except for one semi big thing. If you ride regular you will more than likely cut your foot on the leash since its strategic placed in a terrible spot. I have to wear a booty on my right foot just to avoid this issue. Im thinking of putting some kind of electrical shrink tubing around it so it doesn't rip through my foot as bad. If youre goofy i would imagine you would have no problems at all with this.

Hi Aaron, This is the first time someone has mentioned an issue with the placement of the leash. Is it the leash itself or the leash plug that seems to be giving you troubles? Let's find a solution so you can continue enjoying the board.

Plez phez

Went for a surf here on the east coast, waves were 2-3ft and wonky. The phez kept me out there for hours! Taking it out for a hurricane swell ASAP! Going to try and fit this thing into some hollow OBX pits!

Love my Phez

My first board after surfing a Wavestorm for a couple years was a 5'11 fish. I took it out a handful of times and struggled mightily on it and decided to switch to a long board. After surfing a 9 footer for a couple years, I wanted to try to get back on a shorter board. I'd been following Almond for a while and decided to grab the R-Series 6'4 Plez Phez. I've been very pleased with the purchase! The first time I took it out, I was standing and carving up and down the wave. I couldn't believe how easy it was to transition from the long board. Good quality board, super easy to ride, catches almost anything, and no need for wax. Highly recommended for anyone trying to make the transition to a shorter board or just looking for a fun board to ride in smaller surf. I've let some friends ride the Phez and they always ask me to bring it out!

It paddles great and catches waves easily. I really like the combination of volume and maneuverability. However, I was disappointed that the board had a small but noticeable dent in the left rail upon delivery. I'm not sure if it was a problem with the manufacturing or the delivery method. It hasn't affected the performance of the board but I was disappointed it wasn't in mint condition when it arrived.

Great for beginner surfers

Great board for beginner and beginner-intermediate surfers. Super fun, easy to catch waves, but after a while, if you're looking to progress your surfing, you're better off with something more performance-oriented. The rails are super thick and forgiving, but doesn't go all that well in the steep stuff, and the surprising heaviness of the board doesn't really allow you to project speed as easily as a proper glassed board (obviously). When the waves get a little punchier, leave this board at home. I've had a ton of fun with it while I've had it, and it's really great for what it is, which is a foamie ****** board that looks nice. Does not surf appreciably better than any other foamie of this size, and it's expensive, so knocking a star for that.
