Our slightly fuller fish model. Fits right between the Sandia and Sea Kitten, in terms of volume and performance. Wider throughout, with a bump in the tail to help tighten that turning radius a bit.

BEST FOR: The fish enthusiast who can’t get enough of that loose drive and flow. The Pogie is great for generating speed even in softer conditions and flatter sections, but isn't so wide that it can't tackle your local sand bar.

FIN: Glass on plywood or mahogany keels, by Gully, are standard on the Pogie.

Great fish!

I love this board! It paddles with ease, gets you in early, but is quick as a flash down the line. You can push it on turns and it will hang with you. It is perfect for most every day I would want to surf in San Diego. I will also say that Almond was great during the process of designing a custom board. They kept me updated frequently on progress, with updates and pictures. I highly recommend this board if you are looking for a versatile fish!

5'6 & Dreamin'

I've been wanting a fish for a long time. I wanted a board that would primarily surf slopey waves like 32nd, Churches and San-O on a bigger day. I was looking for that retro feeling, but able to hold if more critical opportunities presented themselves. After a few test drives into different waves (even on steeper waves), I can easily tell that this board is well beyond my expectations. With easy paddling, I am gliding, early and stable, into waves. I was really enjoy how how fast the board is, and yet responsive just like I need. I'm 5'9 and about 155 lbs and 5'6 feels just right a lot of different wave types and sizes. I am having so much fun with this board -- it allows me to see the wave in such a new way and dream about surfing new lines. For a more traditional short-boarder looking at retro style fish, I highly recommend this board. You will love it -- you will get all the new opportunities of what a fish has to offer, without feeling so limited by other fish designs. This board gives the perfect opportunity to approach each wave with style and flow that fishes were designed for. This board has already become my first choice board whenever and wherever I go to surf.
