Announcement, Question, Favor
Recently, I penned an article called "What Are We Investing In?" as I was reflecting on our business and where we should pour our best time, resources, and energy.
Essentially, we aim to operate with the longview in mind; specifically: what is going to create the most value for our best customers? (Sometimes that means saying "no" to quick wins.) You can read that article here.
As a follow up to that article, I have one announcement, one question, and one favor to ask...
1. The Announcement:
We have been working behind the scenes on what it would look like to expand the footprint of the Early & Often Surf Club—and the themes we want the club to hone in on.
Of course, we want to figure out how to do more surf meet-ups in more geographic places, but another need we identified (based on recent survey results) was creating a place for the exchanging of stories & ideas between members.
As a way of bringing the broader community together, we really wanted something more interactive than just an Instagram account—which feels like us just pushing more information out to you, with very little connection between the members of the club.
So, with that end in mind, we created this: Join the Early & Often Surf Club.
It's in launch mode right now, and we have some brand new stuff in the works for the club soon. (Content, events, giveaways, etc...)
2. The Question
Have you found the Surfboard Matching Quiz to be a helpful tool? We realize the choices you make with your surfboard quiver are big ones... and we want to help match each of you with the proper equipment to align with your surfing goals.
We created this simple quiz as a way of making it easier to get a quick, high-level answer to the question "which surfboard is right for me?"
So my question to you is, have you found it to be helpful? Is there anything you would want to see added or different about that quiz? Send your responses to: info@almondsurfboards.com with the subject line "Surfboard Quiz"
3. The Favor
Lastly, I mentioned in the lengthy "What Are We Investing In?" article that two of the nicest things you can do for brands you love are to write a thoughtful product review and tell your friends about the products you love.
If you have any friends who are looking to progress from beginner to intermediate, do them (and us) a favor by encouraging them to try the one of our R-Series Surfboards.
Compared to most of the novice equipment that exists out there, the R-Series boards will really help prepare those folks for the feeling of a "real" surfboard. The way a round rail travels through the water will always supersede a clunky soft top rail with a glued seam on it.
Our aim is to equip folks to become well-rounded life-long surfers... and the sooner we can get them on good equipment, the sooner they can start developing good habits.
If you've been an Almond customer for a long time, you don't need me to tell you that the R-Series boards are not exclusively designed for the novice surfer—far from it! They remain an active part of our personal surfboard quivers for all of the fun and ease they provide.
We are aware of the fact that novice surfers need the most guidance when it comes to making equipment decisions... so help those friends of yours out and direct their attention toward a board that is going to serve their needs and goals.
Plus, we have some big plans for the R-Series range that we're working on...
