Why would we cut a surfboard in half?

Our simple, rugged, closed-cell foam construction means these boards can handle dings without taking on water. But we wanted to push the limits.
What’s worse than a surfboard-fin-to-the-rail ding? How about cutting the surfboard completely in half. Inspired by an old (and slightly unhinged) Boston Whaler ad, we tested whether you could actually surf half of a 9'2 R-Series Surf Thump.
