We asked our shaper, Griffin, which board he would shape (and ride) if he could only shape one board for the rest of his life... his answer: the Pleasant Pheasant.

A progressive mid-length, that features a slightly narrower outline, a round tail, and small side-bites. The Pleasant Pheasant is ideally suited for surfers who want the added foam of a midlength, but still want the ability to explore the face of the wave.

Ideal for: Generous wave counts and rail-to-rail control.

Everything Almond is AMAZING

Did a big order of a 6'6 pleasant pheasant, 7" single fin & side bites, and a couple shirts. Everything is absolute perfection. Can't give enough compliments to this company. They do everything with attention & love and it shows in their products.

6’6” Pleasant Pheasant

I had a 6’6” Pleasant Pheasant shaped earlier in the year and can’t say enough about the board. Fun in a variety of conditions and super versatile. Exactly what I was looking for in an egg. As they say at Almond - it’s all about getting in the wave early and that’s exactly what this board is designed to do!

Goes great, but stress cracks after first session

Received my brand new 6'6" pleasant pheasant last week – so stoked when it arrived. First time out was a mixed bag unfortunately – love the board, goes great, but after the first 1 hour session I noticed two decent sized stress cracks on the center of the deck under my front foot. I know these things happen over time, but a huge bummer to see after my first surf.

Great Board

Long overdue review! I have been surfing a 6’10 for the last 5 years and it is without a doubt one of the best boards I have ever surfed. The quality is top notch and has held up to some abuse like no other board I own. I will have this board for life. The board paddles like a dream and has plenty of performance. Small surf, big surf it’s a dream in all of it. If you are looking at mid length you can’t go wrong!

I'm 6'4" 180 lb and looking to size down from a 9'6" that I regularly ride. What length would you suggest for someone who likes the cruise and glide of a longboard in a shorter form?

Hey Joey, Thanks for reaching out, I think a Pleasant Pheasant in the 6'8-6'10 range should be perfect. That should have plenty of foam to paddle well nd get into waves easily but still maneuver well and hold up if waves pick up a bit. Let me know how that sounds. Thanks, Jeffrey

I just purchased a used 6’10” Pleasant Pheasant from you guys not too long ago, and unfortunately I never got a chance to take it in the water due to a surgery I had to undergo. I was never really a fan of the color any way, so I was wondering if it would be possible to bring it back for store credit and pay the difference for a new custom 6’10”. Let me know your thoughts. I was wondering the measurements of nose and tail are on the 6’4” pleasant pheasant? Also what is the bottom, flat to vee or single to double concave? Curious would love to see the board in person. Thank you, Tom

Hey Tom, Bottom is a very slight bellied entry into a spiral vee in the rear 1/3. Nose - aprox16 5/8 Tail - aprox 15 1/8 We have it in the racks at our shop if you ever want to come check it out. Thanks, Jeffrey
