The Lumberjack

Reclaim the golden era of surfing with our timeless classic, the Lumberjack

Just add the "Huck" pivot fin, and you have a board that catches waves early and often, and provides that classic longboard feel, without sacrificing modern demands like noserides and pivot-turns.

The Lumberjack has been a top selling longboard for 9 consecutive years.

Great Cross-stepping and Noseriding board!! Almond's finest.

As Almond advertised, Lumber Jack model is pure wave catching machine and built to noseride. Low rocker boosts its paddle power and makes it easier to get in to the wave with 1/2 an effort I have to do with other longboards. 9'4" Lumber Jack was my first purchase with Almond and ever since I keep going back to the shop because of their quality. I would recommend Lumber Jack model to anybody who wants to work on their cross stepping and noseriding skill. Works exceptionally good at: San O, Doheny, Blackies, Malibu First point, and Churches points. (I had a surfthumb model but for stepping and noseriding purpose, Lumber Jack is go to board).

Perfect board for east coast waves

As someone who mostly surfs the mid-Atlantic beach breaks (Jersey, Delaware, etc.), the Lumberjack is a perfect board (mine is 9'8"). It has tons of lift and can paddle swiftly into waves that like to crash like curtains dropping. But when things set up enough that you can actually ride the line, the Lumberjack makes for an amazing ride. Its stable but maneuverable. The Lumberjack is perfect for those ever so often "poor to fair" days- you can quickly paddle in and ride waves that others miss. It is such a fun board to ride and looks amazing as well. I couldn't be happier with a board! Thanks Almond!

The dream is real

I’ve been surfing for over 20 years. In that time I have owned a crazy number of boards in various styles from various shapers. I’m not a great surfer, but I’m not a bad surfer either. Just an average dude in any given SoCal lineup. My 9’6’’ Lumberjack is my first Almond and it will not be my last. Firstly, this is the best service I have received at any surf shop ever. The team made me feel so confident in my purchase and really loved talking me through the different models. As for my board - The Lumberjack just straight up works. I’m using a Log Rhythm fin and prefer it to the Huck. Glides, noserides and trims with zero surprises. I use mine at Blackies, DoHo, Church and Sano. Works great at all, I LOVE this board! If you took the time to read this review I’m assuming you are considering purchasing a Lumberjack for yourself. Do it, you’ll have zero regrets. See you in the lineup.

Awesome as always. Friendly and helpful staff.

Mind altering board

Not mind altering in the hippy sense, but surfing my 9’8 lumberjack on small east coast US waves has made me change my approach to looking at waves and shift the lines I take on them. It cuts through the water- it isn’t as forgiving as other long boards but in trim it’s unlike any other. For me, this isn’t a noserider but a board to stand still and enjoy the ride. Really pivots off the back. I use a 9.75 hatchet fin. I love this board
