About Us
Since 2007
Our start was simple: a shared commitment between founder Dave Allee and shaper Griffin Neumann-Kyle to create surfboards that serve reliably, season after season. That commitment remains the backbone of Almond today.
OUR MISSION
To craft surfboards that make the most of everyday conditions, and are valued and cherished for years to come.
Our Models
Every Almond model is the result of careful study and consistent refinement. We design boards that handle everyday conditions with confidence and hold their value through long-term use. Our shapes are purposeful—balanced, dependable, and built to improve a surfer’s time in the water. We stand behind every model we produce because each one reflects the same standard: make it functional, make it durable, and make it worth riding for years.
Our Method
Our method is equal parts craft and curiosity. Every curve, rail, and rocker line is shaped with a purpose, then refined through years of real-world feedback from surfers who trust our boards in their everyday conditions. From there, we design with clarity — removing anything that doesn’t serve glide, control, or longevity. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is decorative for its own sake. The goal is always the same: build a board that earns its keep. This approach looks different across our materials, but the philosophy stays constant. Fiberglass allows for subtle tuning and timeless lines. R-Series offers rugged, recyclable durability that meets surfers early in their progression and sticks with them far beyond it. Whichever path a surfer takes, our method ensures the outcome is the same: a trustworthy tool, built for everyday waves, designed for every season.
"We want to live at the corner of timeless & functional—while never forgetting that surfing is meant to be fun"
- Dave Allee, Founder
Our Vision
We envision a world where every surfer — from the early-days beginner to the seasoned, lifelong rider — feels supported at each step of their journey. Our goal is to provide boards and a community that meets surfers where they are, and help them progress with clarity and confidence. Whether someone is catching their very first green wave or refining their trim on a shoulder-high runner, we want them to feel equipped — not overwhelmed. By building boards that last, teach, and evolve with the surfer, as well as provide resources, community, and encouragement on their surfing journey- we hope to inspire a lifelong connection to the small, steady sessions that shape them.
