About Us

Surfer riding a wave with another person watching in the water.

Since 2007

Almond started with a simple idea: make great surfboards for everyday conditions—the kind of boards we wanted to ride.

Founder Dave Allee and shaper Griffin Neumann-Kyle began working together in 2007 with a shared belief that truly great surfboards should still feel relevant decades after they were built.

OUR MISSION

To craft surfboards that make the most of everyday conditions, and are valued and cherished for years to come.

Our Models

Every Almond model is shaped with a specific purpose in mind.

Some are designed to maximize wave count in everyday conditions. Others are built for trim, speed, noseriding, or drawing clean lines across long, open faces.

But across the whole range, the goal stays the same: build boards that paddle well, feel intuitive under your feet, and keep you paddling out year after year.

Great surfboards (even the pretty ones) are meant to be ridden.

Our Method

We build surfboards for everyday waves.

Every outline, rail, and rocker profile is refined through years of feedback from team riders, customers, and our own experience in the water.

The goal is simple: build boards that paddle great, catch waves early, and make the most of whatever conditions are available on a given day.

Our fiberglass boards focus on timeless outlines and long-term durability. Our R-Series boards offer a more rugged, recyclable construction designed to help surfers catch more waves with fewer worries—proven surfboards built for a lifetime of enjoyment in the surf.

"We want to live at the corner of timeless & functional—while never forgetting that surfing is meant to be fun"

Our Vision

To build surfboards that help people catch more waves, surf more often, and enjoy surfing for a very long time.

Because surfing is meant to be fun, and the right board can dramatically improve your experience in the water.
