On Sunday we co-hosted a special installment of the Early & Often Surf Club in collaboration with Laguna Surf Lodge, as part of the programming for the week-long Coast Film Festival.
There has been a solid run of swell in the water lately, so we weren't sure exactly what the conditions would hold. With the uncertainty around the swell, and the fact that Laguna has a few more rocks than Newport does, we opted for the all-R-Series quiver.
Fortunately, Sunday ended up being 3–4+ feet, the sun was shining, and the vibes were high. Within thirty minutes of the event starting, every board we brought was in the water.
There was a moment when a crew was out in the water swapping different R-Series models between each other, and everyone was all smiles. Some of the best surf sessions are spent sharing waves and swapping boards, and Sunday was definitely that.
A huge thank you to Coast Film and Music Festival, Laguna Surf Lodge, and Phil Farnsworth and Zach Reda for capturing the day.
