Exactly what I wanted

I’ve shaped my first board using this template and I’m very happy with the result. It’s not a classic fish because it was the small wings on the tail and that’s what makes it so fun

My granddaughter asked me to make her a surfboard out of wood with 3 shelves on the front for her. I downloaded the board. It’s on one sheet of paper and half the picture. Can you tell me how to make that the full size 6’2” template. Thank you for any help you can give me. Grandfathers will do anything for their grandkids. Craig Thornton

Hey Craig, Thanks for reaching out. And love to hear you are doing this for your grand daughter. Have you tried taking this to FedEx or a professional printer? They typically are able to help print the template to scale. Templates are typically only 1/2 of the board because then you will flip it on the stringer (center line of the board) and it will be exactly the same on the other side. Does that make sense? I am making a 6’1” fish using this template and I want to do a twin fin but I have no idea where to place the fins and what angle they should be at.

Thanks for reaching out! Somewhere around 7" - 7.5" up from the tail is a good place to put the trailing edge of the twin fins. For keels you want them back another inch since they have longer bases so 6" - 6'5" up from the tail. Twin fins are supposed to be loose so you'll want 5 degree cant and 3/16" toe-in.
