Surfboard Fins from Recycled Fishing Nets

Surfboard Fins from Recycled Fishing Nets

When we were first cooking up the R-Series surfboard, we went on the hunt to find the best quad fin sets that we could pair with our new Rugged, Recyclable, Ready-to-Rip surfboard.

You can imagine our excitement (and surprise) when we learned about the Bureo x Futures collaboration to make the entire ALPHA line of fins out of Bureo's recycled fishing net pellets.

Recycled fishing nets may not sound like a big deal, but they have actually been found to be the most harmful of all ocean pollution.  Check this out:

One of the upgraded fin options when you buy an R-Series 5'4 Secret Menu is the Alpha F6 quad fins, made from these recycled pellets.  And since you are pairing the fins with your surfboard purchase, we give them to you at the reduced price of $65 (normally $88).

We are so pleased to be able to offer these Alpha fins on our R-Series boards, knowing it is driving the economics that make it viable to continue collecting these nets and keeping them from being adrift at sea.
