We are often asked about the functional advantage to multiple stringers. Honestly, the affect on flex is pretty minor, because we glass our boards rather substantially. I do think that additional stringers help reduce the chance of getting stress cracks, but most the time stress cracks are from tomb-stoning your board into the sand. All things considered, I’m mostly stoked on multiple-stringer boards because of the aesthetics. We do mostly 2 and 3 stringer longboards, but every-so-often we build an elusive 5-stringer. This is a 5-stringer Surf Thump that just landed in the racks at the shop.
