#MoreWavesLessTrash
This post is lifted straight from Kevin Butler at Rad Cars...
It was too good not to share.
All too often we go to the beach and take.
We take the time to take a few waves and hopefully leave with a blissful smile on our faces. But what about what we're leaving behind as we walk back to our rad exhaust-spewing machines?
Last week as I was walking up to the public shower after an amazing session and I stepped over a pile of plastic and it hit me.
It doesn't have to be a scheduled, organized beach cleanup with coffee, muffins and garbage bags for me to pick up trash.
Then I had an idea.
- After a session I'm going to grab one piece of trash for each waves I take.
- If I take more waves than I can count (which happens a lot) I grab as much as I can carry.
I've been doing this for a few weeks now and although I am not getting all the trash I see. It does make a difference.
Just imaging what'll happen when the 200 people also surfing every spot do it too.
It's a win win.
And the more waves you take, the cleaner our beaches get.
#MoreWavesLessTrash.
