Doc Carnahan has been pursuing the holy grail of the perfect man-made wave since long before the public had really taken notice of artificial waves. (Read: Before December 2015 when Kelly posted his infamous video)
Just this morning Carnahan posted this video clip to his facebook page, with the caption:
"NOT A WAKE FOR WAKESURFING BUT A WAVE FOR SURFERS A WAKE NO MATTER HOW NICE IT IS ITS STILL A WAKE ITS NOT EVERN (sic) IN THE SAME CLASS AS THIS WAVE"
An obvious shot at sled-generated waves like KS Wave Co.
Doc even uploaded a link to his US Patent for the plans.
Could there be a serious new contender in the arms race for the most alluring—and commercially viable—man-made surfin' wave? Or do KS Wave Co, BSR Cable Park (American Wave Machines), and NLand Surf Park (Wave Garden) have too much of a head start?
All of this raises the question: In the race to be #1 mechanical wave, do you need to be first, best, or most profitable?
8:52 AM Update:
Doc Carnahan just had the following to say in response to a commenter online:
"I am the author these are my old books that are public now being used including kellys wake but its like the industry making blackberry phones when I am on I phone X technology 2020 which is the current systems in the labs I am showing ten year old tech THE SURF RANCH IS 1976 Tech."
